In the summer months between April and mid-October, the rain rarely lasts longer than half an hour to an hour.

In which months does it rain in Istanbul?
During the summer months, the weather in Istanbul is comparatively dry.
Between April and September there is usually only a few days of rain. The rainfall rarely lasts longer than 30 minutes to hours.
Between October and March there are also days with gray skies, fog and rainfall. Sometimes it even snows in Istanbul in winter. Photos of snow-covered palm trees in front of Hagia Sophia usually attract worldwide attention.
Climate in Istanbul
The average annual temperature is 14°C (57°F). The warmest months are July and August with an average of 23°C (73°F). The two coldest months are January and February with just over 5°C (41°F) on average.
During the heat spells, which often last several days and occur from June to early September, summer temperatures can reach over 30°C (86°F) in the shade. The winter, however, is cool or cold and weather is changeable.
Amount of precipitation: The average annual precipitation is 850 millimeters (33in). Most precipitation falls in the months of November and December with an average of 110 and 124 mm (4,3 and 4,8in). The lowest precipitation is recorded for the months of May, June and July with 36, 37 and 39 mm (1,4-1,5in) on average. Heavy rainfall and flooding occur especially in autumn and winter.
