Bet Yaakov Synagogue Üsküdar The Bet Yaakov Synagogue was founded in 1878 with a capacity of about 260 people next to a Greek Orthodox Church. It is also called Kal de Abasho, “The Lower Synagogue”. The octagonal dome in the main hall, which is decorated with crystal chandeliers, is adorned with scenes from the Holy Land. A very valuable Torah scroll made of gazelle skin is kept in the synagogue.
