After Büyükada and Heybeliada, Burgazada, the third largest of the Princes’ Islands, became a popular summer destination for wealthy Jewish families. Therefore, a house of prayer became also necessary here.
In the early 1960s, people first met in private houses to pray. In 1968, they moved into the premises of the Burgaz Tatil Evi (Burgaz holiday home), which have since served as a synagogue.
In 1994, the interior was completely renovated.
