City Museum (Şehir Müzesi)

Istanbul City Museum in Turkey

The City Museum is located in the Fine Arts Hall of Yildiz Palace and displays the social life of Istanbul during the Ottoman era.

Many different objects, which are exhibited on two floors, take the visitor on a journey through time to the elegance and splendor of the social circumstances of that time.

After two relocations, the museum’s collection was finally opened in 1988 at its current site. The exhibits include calligraphy with original signatures of some sultans, textiles, glass and porcelain works, kitchen utensils and paintings by well-known painters.
