Things You Should Know Before Your Facelift/ Neck Lift in Turkey
- Please keep in mind that a facelift or neck lift do not affect the natural aging processes of the skin, but can only help to decrease their visible manifestations.
- Facelift / neck lift surgery is possible for women and men.
- One single trip to Istanbul is sufficient for the procedure. Plan at least 8 -10 days.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking at least 1 week before and after the surgery.
- Don’t be alarmed: Swelling of the face and eyelids, bruising and a high temperature of 38 °C are common symptoms in the first few days after surgery.
- You will have to wear a compression bandage for at least 10 days.
- After the procedure, cold compresses on the face/neck and eyelids can help.
- Especially in the first 4-5 days after surgery, it is important to take it easy. Do not turn your head too much.
- After the facelift/ neck lift procedure, patients will need to sleep on their back on 2 or 3 pillows to keep the head elevated above the body.
- Make-up is not allowed for at least 2 weeks.
- Physical activities are tolerable after 4 weeks.
- Sauna and solarium visits are not allowed for at least 2-3 months. Shampooing becomes possible after 4 - 5 days.
- Make sure that you protect your face/ neck with high sun cream and sunglasses from the sunlight.
- Stitches are typically removed within 6 -14 days.
- Recovery will take about 1 to 2 weeks. It is critical to follow the aftercare instructions recommended by your doctor. Specific massages can help the healing process (after 3 weeks).
- Complete stabilization of the scar occurs within one year after surgery.
- Results are long-lasting and last in most cases for 8 to 15 years depending on the type of facelift/ neck lift.
Procedure of a Facelift/ Neck Lift in Istanbul, Turkey
The first step for your facelift/ neck lift in Turkey is to send in your medical history and pictures of your face and neck.
