Istanbul can be reached worldwide via the airports Istanbul IST (European side) and Sabiha Gökcen (Asian side).
Both airports are approximately 1 hour from Sultanahmet, the tourist central point in Istanbul.
Do I need a visa to go to Turkey?
Information on issuing visas is shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the official Turkish evisa.gov.tr website.
The local diplomatic missions in Turkey, embassies and consulates, can also answer questions about entering Turkey.
Entry without a visa: Citizens of Germany, Austria and Switzerland are able to enter Turkey without a visa for visits of up to 90 days in any 180 day period.
