Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is the second largest commercial airport in Turkey after the new Istanbul Airport and is located approximately 40 kilometers east of the Bosphorus on the Asian side of Istanbul.
It is about 41 kilometers from Taksim and 45 kilometers from Sultanahmet. It is named after Sabiha Gökçen, the adoptive daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It handled over 35 million passengers the past year.
