Istanbul is a busy and exciting city, but it also has many green and peaceful parks. Almost every district has at least one park, and many are on hills with beautiful views of the Bosphorus. In Turkish, these green areas are sometimes called “koru”, meaning grove.

Some parks even have old palaces, cafes, and restaurants where you can enjoy a meal or drink with a view.

Here are some of the most beautiful parks in Istanbul:

🌍 On the European Side

1. Gülhane Park (Fatih)
Next to Topkapı Palace, this is one of the oldest parks in the city. Once a private garden for the sultans, it now has open spaces, large trees, and Bosphorus views. It also has a museum about science and technology in Islamic history.

2. Emirgan Park (Sarıyer)
A favorite in April during the Tulip Festival! This big park has colorful flowers, small lakes, and three beautiful pavilions (Yellow, Pink, White) that are now used as cafes.

3. Yıldız Park (Beşiktaş)
Located between Yıldız Palace and Çırağan Palace, this peaceful park is full of trees and flowers. It has two old Ottoman houses (Çadır and Malta pavilions) where you can enjoy tea or breakfast.

4. Maçka Demokrasi Park (Nişantaşı)
Close to the city center, this park has walking paths, a playground, and even a cable car for great views. It’s popular for jogging and picnics.

5. Belgrad Forest (Sarıyer)
If you want real nature, go to this large forest outside the city. It’s perfect for hiking, running, or relaxing. There are also old water reservoirs and lots of birds and plants.

🏞 On the Asian Side

6. Göztepe 60. Yıl Park (Kadıköy)
Very popular during the Tulip Festival. It has neat gardens, pools, and fun areas for children. Great for families.

7. Fethi Paşa Grove (Üsküdar)
A quiet green place with amazing Bosphorus views. You can walk between tall pine and oak trees and enjoy the view across to Europe.

8. Polonezköy Nature Park (Beykoz)
This huge nature park has hiking and bike trails. You can have a picnic and enjoy the peaceful forest, just a short trip from the city.

9. Moda Coastal Park (Kadıköy)
A great place by the sea. Walk or ride your bike while watching the sunset and the Princes’ Islands. There are cafes nearby too.

🏛️ Special Park

10. Miniatürk (Beyoğlu)
A miniature park where you can see tiny versions of famous Turkish buildings. Fun for kids and adults, and also educational!

Whether you’re visiting for a peaceful walk, a family picnic, or to escape the noise of the city, parks in Istanbul offer something for everyone. 🧺🌳
